What I Do
Tim was raised in South Texas (Eagle Pass, to be exact) on the border with Mexico. His parents were missionaries and so Tim grew up in a Christian atmosphere, as well as a bilingual environment. Both of these help tremendously in his work. The Christian aspect shows in his desire to be fair, consistent and loving with all of the people for whom he works and associates. The bilingual aspect allows him to reach out across "barriers." With a nickname like "Albino," he apparently can speak both English and Spanish. Tim is an athlete (having played college football, baseball and soccer), a preacher (his Master's degree is in Religious Studies), a musician (he is a baritone who has done many concerts: Christian and operatic), a husband (he's married to a beautiful, loving and hard-working wife, Ruth), a father (he has two sons and has a nephew and a niece who live with him and his wife permanently), and a local computer "buff." Tim has worked in many different types of jobs while in college (crane and conveyor shop, bowling alley, tobacco field, carpenter's apprentice, an orderly in a hospital, and a salvage metal yard), but most recently has been in the youth ministry (where he worked for 12 years). During his time of ministry he found he could help people not only with their spiritual concerns, but also with their concerns with technology (ie. Computers). Watkins has been working in and on computers since 1987.
Presently, Tim is the choir director at Sharyland High School (Mission, TX). He also is the high school computer repair teacher (yes, there is a class in high school for this trade!!!).
